Job Summary


We are seeking a skilled Accounting Associate to join IND-Cipl-BS -Fin – Reports -Global Finance Services Division.


The Incumbent need to review the transaction processing, advise on the GST , WHT that are to be charge appropriately and advice the Internal/external customer on the Indirect Tax and advice the use of appropriate tax classification, and forms and declaration for effective tax benefits and compliance.  Provide leadership in implementing Tax planning, Tax reduction and strategies and ensure compliance.


The preference for this role is to be based out of Chennai-International Technology Park


  What you will do



Job Description Summary


  • To comply with Goods and Service tax, experience in national and local (federal and state) tax laws and various indirect taxes (i.e. VAT, customs duties, Excise Duties, Service Tax, Sales Tax, Works Contract Tax,, etc.) and regulations in India and minimize the legal tax liability of the enterprise by preparing, reviewing and analyzing tax returns, challenging and negotiating reductions to assessments of tax auditors, determining timely estimated taxes, and identifying and participating in tax reduction projects.
  • Possible areas of responsibility are varied complexity, mainly informing the stakeholders on the Amendments in the Act, Rules, changes made by reading  the day to day Notifications, Circulars, Instructions including in depth knowledge on  Transactional Processing , setting right GST process for each of the activities,  Reviewing the Input Tax Credit, Review of accounts postings, Payment of Tax,  review of  monthly returns, E-Filing of  various Returns Including  Monthly, Quarterly and  Annual Returns, providing necessary information to Tax authorities, Liaison with Tax Authorities as may be necessary, Tax Assessment, Reconciliation of Accounts, Providing Management Information Reports, Global Vat Compliance, and other assignments that are assigned from time to time.

What you will have 


  • Post Graduate or equivalent
  • Experience: The position requires 3+ years’ experience in Indirect Tax Function specifically in the area of Excise, VAT, WCT and Service Tax and strong knowledge on GST operational activity. Work experience in Big 4 Accounting firms is preferred.
  • Experience in SAP working environment is compulsory. Knowledge in FI & GST module is required.
  • Skills: Knowledge of company organization, accounting practices, demonstrate strong leadership, initiative, inter-personal skills, Team player and the ability to communicate effectively with a strong Positive attitude.
  • At the outset, the Incumbent will be expected to be a contributing performer, informing the Leadership about the amendments in the GST Act/Rules and ensure the  company is GST tax compliant by providing  Tax support   to business processes.

    Additionally
  • The incumbent will be exposed to a variety of accounting & Transactional Processing functions and will perform a high level of compilation with a broad range of analysis work in the area of Indirect Tax..
  • The Incumbent will demonstrate knowledge and ability to independently handle tax issues.  They need to demonstrate good communication skills and have an extended knowledge of Caterpillar's businesses, products, suppliers and customers.
  • Maintaining stable performance under demanding business needs and support to the Business to the urgency.
  • Knowledge on other areas of Indirect Tax like Customs, Foreign trade Policy, Global VAT and Trade Compliance would be an added advantage.
