What You Will DoThe International GL Accountant role is a critical role within our accounting team and will be a part of our International Accounting Shared Services Operations. We are looking for a professional who can work cohesively to be part of a team that leads this organization into our next chapter: Extending our current systems and processes – infrastructure that has served our over 3,000+ customer base, across 70 countries and our over 1,000 employees at revenue levels exceeding $300 million annually—on to the next level: 1,000+ employees and annual revenues approaching $500M.Key routine responsibilities of the role include working as part of a team in India who will bring the fixed assets and prepaid accounting of our ~20 subsidiaries in-house or establish from the scratch from various countries like UK, Germany, Ireland, France, Canada, Australia, Singapore, etc. and assist with day-to-day and month end close accounting operations for our subsidiaries. Ensuring compliance with the Company’s internal control procedures. This team will partner with the corporate accounting team to ensure maintaining the necessary infrastructure, compliance, various accounting standards (IFRAS, IGAAP etc.) and processes within our global operations.Key non-routine responsibilities of the role include extending our current systems and processes to levels necessary to continue the Company’s rapid growth trajectoryThe position will report to the Director, Accounting In India.The candidate will be self-motivated with the ability to provide solutions for issues identified. The successful candidate is a competent individual with integrity, accountability, strong interpersonal skills, and a team player. The position requires a “hands on” person who is flexible, hard-working and able to work well under pressure.Key Responsibilities:- Perform and Maintain end to end Fixed Assets accounting of our international entities in countries like, UK, Germany, Ireland, France, Canada, Australia, Singapore according to the local statutory books as well as parent entity’s requirements and accounting standards.
- Handle new assets addition, retirement and monthly depreciation accounting, reconciliations and maintenance of fixed asset register as per required governing accounting standards
- Establish a standardized process of Fixed assets purchase (Schedule of Authorizations, approval limits, Purchase Order approval matrix, etc.) to ensure seamless purchase accounting and document trail for future reference.
- Coordinate with the corporate accounting team to ensure timeliness and accuracy of the subsidiary books for relevant balance sheet account.
- Provide timely and accurate flux analysis.
- Assist in performing periodic verification activities to outline discarded/redundant assets.
- Adhere to the company’s policy for capitalization and recording Prepaid Assets.
- Perform monthly amortization of prepaid assets accurately and maintain detailed schedules
- Support on the assets tracking and tagging exercise for audit and tracking purposes.
- Preparation and maintenance of itemized prepaid schedules to ensure proper record and accounting of prepaid items.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of relevant Schedules for financial statements
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Provide insights and explanations for variances in financial performance to aid in decision-making
- Prepare documentation and support for internal and external audits.
- Implement and supervise internal controls within the R2R process.
Desired Skills & Experience:- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or finance.
- 5+ years’ experience in managing fixed assets and prepaid accounting with IFRS and IGAAP standards specifically in the tech industry.
- Prior experience working with foreign subsidiaries, including intercompany accounting
- Proficient with MS Excel.
- System savvy and ability to work with different applications and databases; experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud, Concur and other cloud-based ERPs is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the demonstrated ability to work independently, yet cooperatively and constructively, in a team environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
