Major Accountabilities:
Utilize CAD software to create detailed design models, drawings, and specifications for mechanical components and systems used in hardware and product engineering projects.
Conduct DFMEA to identify and mitigate potential failure modes and risks associated with mechanical designs, ensuring the reliability and safety of hardware and product engineering solutions.
Apply prototyping techniques and methodologies to develop physical prototypes of mechanical components and systems, facilitating design validation and testing.
Integrate electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) considerations into mechanical designs, ensuring that hardware and product engineering solutions comply with EMC standards and regulations.
Perform structural analysis and simulations to evaluate the mechanical integrity and performance of components and systems under various loading conditions and environmental factors.
Implement thermal management strategies in mechanical designs to address heat dissipation, thermal regulation, and thermal protection requirements for electronic components and systems.
Conduct thermal analysis and simulations to optimize heat transfer and thermal performance, ensuring reliability and longevity of hardware solutions.
Apply GD&T principles to define geometric specifications and tolerances for mechanical components and assemblies, ensuring dimensional accuracy and manufacturability.
Interpret engineering drawings and specifications, communicating design requirements effectively to manufacturing and quality assurance teams.
