About Our Team
As part of our team, you will manage the operational process for your own portfolio of academic journals while collaborating with a large team of Journal Managers. You will be a member of a collaborative and inclusive team that encourages autonomy and personal development, while working together to achieve our department's objectives and key results. You will contribute to a supportive team culture by sharing knowledge, ideas, and best practices.
We operate a hybrid working policy, with office attendance requested in our centrally located Exeter office one day per week. The office is open and available most days for staff who prefer to come in.
About the Role
You will be responsible for keeping the datasets (source, publisher, etc.) up to date in end-to-end workflows. You will ensure correct data transformations, analyze the cause, and provide suggestions for improvements. You will work closely with members of various teams, including technical, development, production, and subject matter experts.
Responsibilities
Keep datasets up-to-date and aligned between the systems
Ensure correct data transformations and structured analysis of the cause
Keep the relevant process documents & associated materials up to date with version controls
Work on improvement/enhancement projects/initiatives to improve utilization of the dataset (look for automation wherever possible)
Test search capabilities and review customer experience with the database
Frequently perform data health check-ins to ensure its quality assessment & monitor it
Work with stakeholders/vendors & publishers across various locations
Requirements
Any Bachelor's education with relevant experience
Proficient knowledge of working with large datasets & publication standards/evaluation/production of Books
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to quickly understand complex processes
Good understanding of data analysis (e.g., SQL), data workflows, and tools like Tableau or Databricks
Programming skills (e.g., Python, Perl, KNIME) to create advanced insights into data
Effective communication skills, assertiveness, and ability to build rapport within or across teams
