1. Start with a broad keyword search

Using keywords related to the role or position is the simplest way to start the CV search. Always identify the related keywords to the role and use those to kickstart your search.

2. Identify and use appropriate keywords

The keyword search field will search for keywords in the candidates’ Bayt CVs, as well as the original CVs uploaded by them (if available). Identify and use keywords related to the position and that are highly likely to be used by job seekers when describing their role and experience in their CVs.

Example: If you are looking for a salesperson, avoid using “salesperson” in the keywords field. Job seekers in this role will not describe themselves using the keyword above and their CVs might not contain the same. You can search using multiple job titles related to sales. (i.e. Sales Executive, Sales Representative, Sales Consultant, etc.)

3. Select the appropriate search option

The search will return CVs that contain any (or all) of the keywords you entered. For example, if you enter “oracle java” in the keywords text box and choose "Any", the system will return CVs that contain the word "oracle", CVs that contain the word "java", and CVs that contain both of them.

5. Start with a general search then narrow down your choices

When you start with a general search, you will get an idea on the strength of CVs in the database. This is a good way to start your search and identify how you can perform your next searches better. You can narrow down the results by adding more keywords to your search string.

6. Narrow down your search results

If the number of CVs from the search is a lot, you can narrow down your search results by adding more filters. Use the main filters or use the shortlist options that are present on the left side of your screen.

Note: The main filters will scan the whole database of Bayt.com. On the other hand, the shortlisting cluster will only narrow your current search results; not the whole database.

7. Need more CVs to choose from?

Keep in mind that there are multiple ways to do a search. Should you need more CV options, you can use multiple job titles in the keywords field, use certifications or skills etc.

You might be looking for an HR personnel who’s called a “Recruiter” in Company A, but a “Talent Acquisition Specialist” in Company B.

Job titles may differ from organization to organization but come with the same responsibilities or tasks. Do not only focus on the job title itself but instead take into consideration the duties being performed.

If you are searching for a specific role or title that comes with strict specifications or requirements, you can utilize Boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT, quotation marks, parenthesis) to create a boolean search string.

6. Narrow down your search results

  • All: The search will return only CVs that contain all of the keywords you entered. For example, if you enter “oracle java” in the keywords text box, and choose "All", the system will return only CVs that contain both words "oracle" and "java". However, note that the words may appear in the CV in any order. For example, if a CV contains the word "java" in the job title and the word "oracle" in the training section, this CV will be returned.
  • Exact Order: The search will return only CVs that contain the entered words in that exact order. For example, if you enter “project manager” in the keywords text box and choose "Exact", the system will return only CVs that contain the words "project manager" in this order.
  • Boolean: The search will return CVs that contain any (or all) of the keywords you entered. For example, if you enter “oracle java” in the keywords text box and choose "Any", the system will return CVs that contain the word "oracle", CVs that contain the word "java", and CVs that contain both of them.
