The Quality Upstream Specialist will be responsible for all external quality activities at the cluster level related to the upstream management of all R&P suppliers. This role requires extensive communication with other functions and stakeholders to ensure that both product quality and food safety are managed according to DS standards. Additionally, the specialist will ensure that products and processes consistently comply with Danone standards.


Main Responsibilities:


Conduct audits for:


  • Raw & Pack new suppliers assessment (Homologation process).
  • Current suppliers' evaluation according to Danone criteria and our audit plan.
  • Suppliers' development according to Danone criteria.

Product Quality at R&D Trial Stage:


  • Collaborate closely with the C&P, R&D, and marketing teams to ensure vendors considered for new innovations and potential suppliers of new material types are identified, screened, and approved early in the innovation process to support launch timelines while properly mitigating risk.
  • Regularly attend activity management meetings for new projects to ensure a smooth supplier homologation procedure.
  • Work closely with the FS team to ensure newly introduced materials fully comply with Danone FS standards and FSV are completed to avoid any risk to the manufacturing site.

Suppliers Quality Performance Management within the Danone System:


  • Effectively communicate progress on suppliers' homologation KPIs to key CBU/Central stakeholders to support the governance of the homologation process and drive further improvement in homologation compliance through KPI measurements.
  • Provide Quality & Food Safety technical guidance and support to suppliers, assessing their Quality & Food Safety systems to comply with homologation requirements and develop their capabilities.

Reporting System for the External Quality Department:


  • Arrange, prepare, and follow up on Cosup meetings, then follow up on the arising action plan.
  • Share on the Africa call agenda (monthly call attended by all top Quality management of Africa and stakeholders to review the quality KPIs on a monthly basis).
  • Manage the external quality KPIs through a Dashboard monthly report.
  • Prepare Quality Objectives and ensure their fulfillment.

Promotional Objects:


  • Manage Promotional objects validation for Egypt for the Dairy sector.
  • Train all relevant stakeholders on the Promotional objects procedure.

To be able to achieve the above and be successful in this role we believe you need to have:


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Food science & Technology, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field.
  • 2-4 Years of experience in FMCGs or Pharma industries.
  • Leadership skills
  • Good Communication skill.
  • CAPA management.
  • Risk Management.
  • Auditing Skills.
  • Investigation Management and RCA process.
