UNIX SENIOR ADMINISTRATOR

Job Purpose:

To administer all UNIX Platforms related tasks & responsibilities including provisioning, maintenance and troubleshooting, in order to ensure smooth workflow and avoid any disruption to the bank’s business services.

Description

AIX Administration

1.Implement, maintain and troubleshoot UNIX (AIX, Solaris , Redhat) based Virtualization Platforms “IBM PowerVM, Redhat Virtualization, Otaclr VM” to better utilize UNIX based infrastructure in the bank on all UNIX based platform (IBM POWER, Intel x86, Oracle SPARC).

2.Avail all required resources and server provisioning to avail requirements for all CIB projects.

3.Carry out the implementation, maintenance and performance tuning of all UNIX based Environments while abiding to the Change Management Process and to ensure all actions are documented on Request Fulfilment module and HP Service Management.

4.Centralize the administration for the UNIX (AIX, Solaris, Redhat) environments using the available tools (Hardware Management Console, Redhat Satellite, Oracle OEM, Oracle iLOM) for more simplicity and better control.

5.Provide continuous support to resolve critical issues on a 24/7 basis to maximize availability for the bank business services.

6.Administer automation tools (Bash & KSH Scripting, Ansible, Puppet, etc..) technologies to better simplify administration tasks and minimize Time of Delivery to meet CIB projects timelines.

7.Manage and test the Disaster Recovery (DR) UNIX (AIX, Solaris, Redhat) based systems to guarantee the consistency of the configuration, patches and other recommendations as per the DR plan and requirements.

8.Apply the security baseline on all UNIX systems (AIX,Solaris,Linux) as per the recommendation of the vendors and Security team, apply Payment Card Industry (PCI) recommendations and close any reported audit points.

9.Develop internal documentation for key systems and services, to be provided internally within the Infrastructure team or CIB Internal Audit Team.

10.Monitor proactively and audit the health and availability of systems to plan ahead for problems avoidance or system health optimization & & optimize environments according to regular health checks and monitoring results.

11.Apply IT Service Level Agreements, and abide by the targeted Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

12.Implement High Availability Clustering (IBM PowerHA, Redhat High Availabilty,etc..) , Cloud Solutions (IBM PowerVC, Redhat Open Shift, Oracle Open Stack) &

Policies, Processes and Procedures

13.Follow all relevant department policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner

Day-to-day operations

14.Follow the day-to-day operations related to own jobs in the IT Infrastructure Management department to ensure continuity of work

Compliance

15.Comply with all relevant CBE regulations, banking laws, AML regulations and internal CIB policies and code of conduct in order to maintain CIB’s sound legal position and mitigate any potential risks

Qualifications & Experience:

 Bachelor’s degree of Engineering, Computer science or its equivalent.

 Administrator: Minimum  0-2 years of experience in dedicated Unix administration role

Senior Administrator: Minimum 2-4 years of experience in dedicated Unix administration role

 Scripting skills (Korn Shell or Bash)

 Good Knowledge in Storage and Networking concepts, in addition to the following technologies:

o IBM Hardware: (Power Systems, HMC, FSP, ASMI)

o Oracle Hardware: (Oracle Super Cluster, Exadata Technology, ZFS Appliance,etc..)

o IBM Software and OS related: (GPFS Cluster, PowerVM, PowerVC, PowerHA, LPM, LPAR2RRD and others)

o Virtualization Technology ( IBM PowerVM, RHEV, Oracle VM,etc..)

o Automation and Cloud basics

o Storage concepts (Zoning , Multipathing , boot from SAN,etc..)

o Security and Networking concepts.

 Recommended certification:

o Unix administration certification

Skills:
