PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Systems Administrator is a technical operational role responsible for administrating a complex and critical Automated Fare Collection System in Egypt. You will have a strong understanding of a complex system, and software applications. You must also be able to listen, understand and provide assistance for technical matters relating to Automated Fare collection systems. The Systems Administrator must be familiar with a complex computer IT, network solution, Web Orientated Solution. The System Administrator is responsible to maintain, upgrade and manage the Automated Dare Collection System in production. The System Administrator is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and security of the Automated Fare collection application and computer systems IT. The Systems Administrator works alongside the System Administrator Manager and the Head of Engineering. The Systems Administrator will be located at the Attaba Data Center in Cairo.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Systems Administrator responsibilities are as follows, he/she must:

• Provide technical assistance on Automated Fare Collection System in operation.
• Solve problems in a persistent and systematic fashion, taking lead on defect analysis and be hands-on with troubleshooting exercises.
• Monitor the Automated Fare Collection System in production and manage bug tracking using tools such as TFS.
• Acts as the technical interface to support the deployment of a complex Automated Fare Collection System in production.
• Install, configure, and maintain system hardware and software.
• Provide technical support to operation and maintenance teams.
• Deploy and maintain security measures.
• Perform server administration tasks (ex: user/group, security permissions, group policies); research event-log warnings and errors; and monitor resources to ensure that systems architecture components work together seamlessly.
• Stay up to date on the latest technology trends.
• Working under pressure in an operational environment.

KEY COMMUNICATIONS:

• Regular communications with the operation team.
• Regular communication with the System Administrator Manager around maintenance and performance of the System Administration.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Experience on Oracle database.
• 5+ years of experience as a System Administrator.
• Strong understanding of Windows, operating systems.
• Experience with networking protocols and technologies.
• Experience with complex computing technologies like Hyper converged IT.
• Experience with virtualization technologies.
• Experience with systems performance-monitoring tools.
• Experience in SQL database administration.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work Independently and as part as a team.
• Experience on Oracle database.
• Interstate and overseas travel may be required.
• Work Location: Metro Station in Attaba
