Overview of the role
To lead Port Services operations and port sales development, and is responsible for the overall result, quality, compliance, and employee performance in Egypt. This role function as a the local Legal entity manager who will also be responsible for legal entity related requirements and activities.
Who would you be working with?
The Ships Agency Manager, WPS Egypt reports to the Vice President and works closely together with other Country Managers, Key Account Managers, and other relevant functions.
Your formal authorization
The Ships Agency Manager, WPS Egypt has the authority to act and make decisions within this functional description and the CoA.
What will your responsibilities be?
Controlling and monitoring of all Port Services activities, including safety and compliance, within assigned territory.
Ensuring Port Services performance and service quality is according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Actively identify new business and sales opportunities in the territory/country and work with Port Services sales to promote local ports towards customers.
Participate in regular customer visits and business reviews.
Pro-actively identify new means of achieving cost savings, including vendor discounts on behalf of the principal.
Selecting, appointing, and evaluating vendors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with WPS procurement governance.
Report on port and traffic developments within assigned territory.
Ensure profitable port operations by increasing revenue, whilst driving efficiencies to control costs.
Ensure correct amount of pre-funding is received, or the correct level of authority has approved any deviation, prior to performing the port call, in line with the Chart of Authority. Same to be ensured when additional funding required prior vessel’s sailing.
Ensure procedures relevant to Disbursement Accounts production are implemented and optimised.
Responsible for supporting and ultimately driving the collection of spot port call receivables.
Ensure efficient and competent resources are appointed at port location(s).
Ensure onboarding and regular training is conducted for all employees.
Respond timely and effectively to customer complaints and IP’s and take the necessary actions for prevention.
Your responsibilities as Legal Entity Manager:
The Ships Agency Manager, WPS Egypt would be responsible in making decisions as well as facilitate decisions that is in the best interest of WPS in areas such as company infrastructure, operating licenses, emergency handling, facility/office management, statutory compliance, health, and safety and more. The role is overall responsible to ensure the legal entity operates in line with local legal and statutory requirements.

What qualifications are we looking for this role?
Bachelor’s degree within Maritime or Business management field, or alternatively work experiences compensating for formal education.
Experience in Ships Agency service operations - min. 7 yrs.
Excellent communication skills and a very good command of the English language (oral and written).
Strong customer relationship skills.
Strong financial awareness & control.
Systematic & accurate nature.
Team Building skills.
Computer literate.
