As a fast-growing company, we are looking for new members to expand our tightly-knit team.YOU WILL:Job Summary:As a Wire Harness Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and validation of wiring harnesses for EV systems. This includes working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the electrical systems meet performance, safety, and quality standards. Your role will be instrumental in building efficient and reliable EVs, contributing to Shift EV's mission to electrify the future.Key Responsibilities:Design & DevelopmentDevelop detailed wire harness designs based on vehicle specifications and system requirements.Create schematics, 2D/3D layouts, and wiring diagrams using design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent).Specify components such as connectors, terminals, and protective coverings.Testing & ValidationConduct validation and performance testing of wire harnesses, ensuring adherence to automotive standards (e.g., ISO, SAE).Collaborate with the validation team to address any failures or non-conformities.Cross-functional CollaborationWork closely with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to ensure seamless integration of wire harnesses into vehicle systems.Communicate with suppliers for component selection and procurement.Documentation & CompliancePrepare and maintain technical documentation, including BOMs, test reports, and assembly instructions.Ensure compliance with automotive and EV safety standards.Continuous ImprovementIdentify opportunities to enhance harness design, reduce costs, and improve manufacturability.Investigate and implement new materials, methods, and tools for wire harness development.YOU HAVE: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.2-5 years of experience in wire harness design or a similar role, preferably in the automotive or EV industry.Proficiency in harness design tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks Electrical).Strong understanding of electrical systems, circuit design, and signal integrity principles.Familiarity with wiring standards such as IPC/WHMA-A-620.Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, etc.).Familiarity with automotive industry standards and communication protocols.Strong communication and preference for working in teams
