Senior UX/UI Designer - Jumia (Full Time)

What you will be doing



Team Leadership (50%) + Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of 5 UX Designers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
+ Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback to support professional growth and development.
+ Lead team meetings and workshops to share insights, align on design strategies, and promote best practices in UX design.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing, to ensure alignment and effective communication.
Individual Contribution (50%) + Lead the design process for key projects, from research and ideation to prototyping and user testing.
+ Create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes that align with business goals and user needs.
+ Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and validate design decisions.
+ Advocate for the end-user by ensuring that all design solutions are user-centered and data-driven.
+ Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve design processes and deliver innovative solutions.

What we are looking for



Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in UX design, with at least 1 year in a leadership role. Proven experience managing and mentoring a team of designers. Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in UX design, including research, wireframing, prototyping, and user testing. Proficient in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, etc. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
