The Senior System Administrator – IT Infrastructure, will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the overall performance, security, and availability of the organization's IT systems. This role includes managing cloud infrastructure, system administration, storage, backups, email systems, and endpoints.


Key Accountabilities
  • Administer and manage servers, operating systems, and network infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability.
  • Perform regular maintenance, updates, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) and virtualized environments, ensuring seamless integration, optimized resource allocation, and cost efficiency.
  • Implement and maintain automated backup solutions, execute disaster recovery plans, and conduct regular backup tests to ensure data protection.
  • Administer enterprise-level email systems, troubleshoot issues, and implement security measures such as encryption and archiving.
  • Oversee endpoint management, ensuring desktops, laptops, and mobile devices are properly configured, secure, and maintained, while enforcing security policies against threats.
  • Manage storage solutions, including SAN and NAS, ensuring efficient data management, scaling, and protection, while planning for future growth.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and regulations through system audits, access controls, vulnerability assessments, and implementation of security tools.
  • Automate administrative tasks using scripting languages, implement monitoring and alerting systems, and proactively address system issues.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps while generating reports on system performance and security.
  • Collaborate with IT teams on infrastructure projects, system upgrades, and troubleshooting while mentoring junior administrators.
Knowledge , Skills , Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in system administration, with significant expertise incloud infrastructure, backup, storage, email systems, and endpoint management.
  • Experience managing enterprise-level systems, email systems (e.g., Exchange, Office 365), cloud environments (AWS, Azure), and storage solutions (SAN, NAS).
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux/Unix, and cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Expertise in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
  • Experience with backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault) and disaster recovery planning.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and related services (e.g., EC2, S3, Azure VMs).
  • Familiarity with email systems like Microsoft Exchange or Office 365.
  • Knowledge of storage management systems such as SAN and NAS.
  • Experience with endpoint management tools (e.g., SCCM, Intune) and security software (e.g., Antivirus, Firewalls).
  • Scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation and systems management.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Certifications: Certifications in Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CompTIA Security+, or other relevant certifications.
  • Experience in Retail or E-commerce: Familiarity with IT systems in retail or high-transaction environments is a plus.
  • Virtualization Knowledge: Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, or other virtualization platforms.
