1. Conducting technical and economic comparative studies during the project phase.
2. Developing the general design and drafting design documentation.
3. Creating block diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), mass balance calculations, calculation notes, preparing process control philosophy, and cause and effect analysis.
4. Managing and overseeing the design and implementation of plant structures, equipment, and systems.
5. Establishing and validating the hydraulic profile, including performing hydraulic calculations.
6. Preparing preliminary lists of motors and instruments.
7. Validating and finalizing Bills of Materials (BOMs).
8. Defining specifications for electromechanical equipment and performing related calculations.
9. Consulting with suppliers, participating in equipment selection and determining prices for electromechanical equipment during the project phase.
10. Consolidating and optimizing the cost of all plant equipment throughout the project phase.
11. Determining the consumable requirements for plant operations
12. Writing technical documentation related to equipment, processes, and project phase guarantees.
13. Participating in bid defense and responding to client inquiries during the project phase. 14. Developing the process description and contributing to control philosophy.
15. Providing support during plant startup and commissioning.
16. Compiling a market folder for equipment and process sections.
17. Assisting the purchasing department with technical decisions.
18. Writing the operating manual.
19. Offering support to the site execution team as needed.
20. Staying informed of technical and regulatory developments.
21. Preparing HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) reports, including organizing and leading HAZOP studies, attending HAZOP meetings, collecting mechanical and E&IC (Electrical & Instrumentation and Control) inputs, identifying potential hazards and operability issues, and recommending safety measures and design modifications.
22. Adhering to quality procedures in all related activities.
23. Contributing to process optimization and improvement initiatives within the Corporate Engineering Department. 24. Volunteering for onsite support during startup and commissioning, as needed.
