Job Description
You are responsible for a key or strategic technical area of great importance to the company and by your involvement, have advanced the company's capabilities in a meaningful way. Responsibility for such an area manifests in a mixture of two activities such as Broad management responsibility & TL responsibility.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Accountable for a key, business-critical domain or technical area that contributes to the broader organization’s priorities, advancing its capabilities.
- Scope and impact may vary depending on breadth or depth. May be leading a single, highly difficult project of quantifiable scope and impact (well beyond Eng Mgr II expectations) or overseeing and ensuring the success of multiple Eng Mgr II-scoped projects.
- Ensure quality-driven delivery at scale. Remove widely felt barriers to productivity.
- Find ways to make organizations, business areas, or multiple Eng Mgr II-scoped projects more effective.
- Operate with excellent judgment and minimal oversight from more senior leaders.
- Understand, communicate, and support organization-level business objectives and priorities. Invest in team members’ individual growth, as well as broader organization health.
- Proactively identify and solve team issues along a variety of dimensions, such as cultural, strategic, stang, process, and prioritization.
- Adapt when needed, develop change-resilient teams, and effectively scale teams to handle increased breadth or depth of scope.
- Possibly no longer on the critical path for day-to-day operations such as design reviews or product releases.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on design and architecture.
- Strong experience in people management, with a track record of successfully managing and developing engineering teams.
- Expertise in at least one programming language such as PHP, Node JS.
- Proven experience in identifying and hiring top talent in software engineering and retaining them.
- Excellent communication skills, with an ability to translate technical details for non-technical stakeholders.
