Safety Officer
Job Description
We are currently seeking for passionate and dynamic Engineering professionals who pride themselves on their ability to deliver extraordinary levels of customer service and provide creative solutions to our guests.
As a Safety Officer you are responsible to assist the EHS Manager on all matters related to safety, occupational health, emergency preparedness and environmental compliance programs whereby your role will include key responsibilities such as:
• Follow the standards of Rotana as per the ‘Fire & Emergency Manual’
• Take rounds of the hotel complex on a daily basis and highlight any dangerous operating condition
• Co-ordinate on various functions of the hotel to ensure safety at work place
• Follow up on maintenance and operations of all the fire alarm system and fire fighting system in the hotel and maintain proper records
• Meet requirements to wear respiratory protection or other safety equipment
• Investigate and analyse a variety of plant, field and office operation in order to implement and provide effective training and safety programs for a variety of staff, covering a wide spectrum of operations and areas
• Prepare and maintain both manual and automated logs, records, reports and charts
• Track, interpret, apply and explain complex and technical policies, procedures codes, statues, regulations, documents and make recommendations accordingly
• Work independently and make effective judgements regarding compliance issues
Skills
Education, Qualifications & Experiences You should ideally have a degree in Engineering and should have at least two years experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry. A good command of written and spoken English and the ability to monitor for compliance with local safety, health, environmental regulations and industry standards are essentials.
Knowledge & Competencies
The ideal candidate will be able to evaluate and control environmental hazards by developing and modifying procedures, training modules and providing safety orientation to hotel employees.
