As the Safety Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive safety programs to ensure a secure work environment for all employees and visitors.
Job Description
Main Duties.
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with local and international regulations
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions
- Lead and coordinate emergency response activities, including drills and training exercises
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures
- Provide safety training and education to employees at all levels of the organization
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and initiatives, making data-driven improvements as needed
- Collaborate with department heads and management to integrate safety practices into daily operations
- Maintain accurate safety records and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies
- Stay up-to-date with changes in safety regulations and industry best practices
- Manage the budget for safety-related equipment, training, and programs
- Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related matters with external agencies and stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a safety management or supervisory role
- In-depth knowledge of local and international safety regulations and standards
- Proven experience in developing and implementing safety policies and procedures
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to train and educate others
- Proficiency in Windows-based programs and safety management software
- Current certification in CPR and First Aid
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to collaborate and influence at all levels of the organization
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in emergency situations
- Professional demeanor and commitment to maintaining a culture of safety
- Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies as needed
