Job Description
Job Purpose:
A Risk Management Analyst is primarily responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential risks that could impact the company's financial performance, reputation, or operations.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Participate in building and promoting a Risk Culture in AXA Egypt. Perform data quality checks on data used in different processes.
- Document, review and regularly update risk management procedures and company policies.
- Contribute in the preparation of structured risk management update reports to the ExCom/ARCC/Audit Committee.
- Contribute to the implementation of the Maturity Models.
- Produce a risk management opinion on large accounts, partnerships, bancassurance deals and annual strategic plans.
- Participate in work required to set up the risk appetite framework in line with the local requirements and AXA group standards.
- Conduct quantitative studies of risk and profitability as well as review pricing tools in the context of Product Approval Process.
- Conduct reserving calculations to ensure the appropriateness of reserves.
- Contribute to the review of reinsurance programs to confirm retention and cover appropriateness through stress tests.
- Contribute to the process of measuring accumulation of exposure and monitoring it on a regular basis. Contribute to the development of 2nd opinion on Asset Liability Management (ALM), Strategic Asset
- Allocation (SAA) and Investment Approval Process (IAP) studies.
- Facilitate the identification, categorization, assessment, prioritization, creation of action plans and regular update of potential and emerging local risks in line with the regulatory requirements and AXA group standards.
- Coordinate the regular reporting of Loss Data Collection (LDC)
- Support in the establishment and monitoring of Key Risk Indicators.
- Coordinate with IT regarding implementation of information security, business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Produce a risk management opinion on critical IT projects.
- Conduct qualitative assessment of operational risks in the context of Product Approval Process. Conduct Internal Control Processes review.
- Assist other areas of the business with tasks/projects as required. Perform all other duties assigned by manager.
Skills
Education / Certifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science (preferable) or Engineering. Actuarial exam passes are a plus.
- 0-3 years in Risk Management, Actuarial or another technical functions in an insurance, reinsurance or consulting company.
Job Qualifications:
- Highly numerate, analytical and attentive to detail.
- Basic technical skills with the ability/willingness to learn different aspects of risk management. Excellent English and Arabic language skills (Verbal and Written)
- Basic knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) concepts and insurance industry risk management requirements.
- Basic knowledge of financial analysis
- Basic understanding of all AXA Egypt's products and policy conditions Basic knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel)
- Knowledge of Access, VBA, SAS and R is a plus
- Basic Awareness of emerging risks arising out of business practices or from the country.
- Basic judgment on regulatory changes that has any direct impact on the company's risk management initiatives.
- Basic understanding of Life and P&C actuarial concepts, analysis and modeling.
- Basic knowledge of risk assessment and quantification methodologies followed to manage enterprise risks.
