What we’re looking for:
Shift EV seeks a highly motivated and experienced Reg Affairs Lead within the Regulatory Affairs function to play a critical role in ensuring that Shift EV has continuous freedom to operate and has smooth introductions of new vehicle categories and models to the Egyptian market. In this role, you will liaise with government officials, ensure timely compliance with legal and technical requirements, and collaborate with internal teams to introduce vehicles to the market.
What you will do
- Lead vehicle homologation processes, ensuring timely acquisition of approvals and certifications for new models while adhering to strict deadlines.
- Proactively engage with government entities to interpret and comply with evolving regulations and automotive industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, sales) to plan the seamless introduction of new vehicles that meet all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the engineering team and business units to implement and maintain local & global compliance standards for vehicles and other products.
- Manage renewal of company documentation to maintain freedom to operate and business continuity.
- Analyze the existing subsidies and/or incentives and coordinate the internal stakeholders to benefit from them.
- Investigate and coordinate a cross-functional potential local and global programs or schemes that would create economic benefits for the company.
Who you are
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in the automotive industry, ideally with background in vehicle homologation or a related field.
- Deep understanding of government processes and the ability to navigate them effectively.
- Strong grasp of legal and technical requirements and standards for vehicle homologation.
- Excellent communication and planning skills, both written and verbal.
- Commitment to the highest ethical standards and conducting business with integrity and transparency.
