Job Description

About the Role:


We are seeking an R&D Manager in Flour Industry to lead product innovation, process improvement, and quality enhancement in flour production. This role will focus on developing new flour blends, improving product consistency, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations while driving cost optimization and sustainability initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in flour formulation, grain science, and food technology, with expertise in R&D methodologies and technical problem-solving.


Key Responsibilities:

Product Development & Innovation

  • Lead the development of new flour products, blends, and specialty formulations for various applications (e.g., bakery, pasta, confectionery).
  • Enhance the nutritional value, functional properties, and processing stability of flour products.
  • Conduct trials and sensory evaluations to optimize product performance.

Process Improvement & Cost Optimization

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance flour milling efficiency and reduce production costs.
  • Optimize raw material utilization and milling techniques to achieve consistent flour quality.
  • Research alternative grain sources and additives for functional and cost-effective product development.

Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards (ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP, BRC, and Codex Alimentarius).
  • Work closely with quality control teams to maintain flour consistency, texture, and performance.
  • Oversee raw material selection and supplier evaluation to ensure adherence to company quality standards.

Market Research & Competitive Analysis

  • Analyze market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor products to drive innovation.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to align R&D efforts with customer needs and business objectives.
  • Evaluate the technical feasibility of new product launches and recommend strategic product expansions.

Technology & Digital Innovation

  • Utilize advanced milling technologies, AI-driven analytics, and lab testing equipment to improve R&D efficiency.
  • Implement ERP (SAP preferred) and data-driven tools to streamline research and development processes.

Team Leadership and Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead and mentor a team of food scientists, product developers, and technical experts.
  • Collaborate with production, procurement, and quality assurance teams to ensure smooth implementation of R&D projects.
  • Conduct training programs to enhance technical knowledge and innovation culture within the company.
