Job Description

Position Title: QC Engineer

Reports to: QC Manager

Category: FTE

Unit / Division / Department / Section: QC

Location: Egypt

 

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for ensuring that the Lab Technicians and QC Inspectors, perform their tasks to the standards laid down and to ensure that raw materials used to manufacture the products are tested prior to use

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Description - Production Quality Standards Pipes

Responsibilities / Performance Measures

  • Organize and supervise subordinates to ensure that all QC activity is carried out in an efficient and compliant manner.
  • Ensure that pipe manufacturing procedures meet applicable standards and client specifications.
  • Confirm that only approved raw materials are used to ensure acceptable end product quality.
  • Inspect and test finished pipe product to ensure compliance to quality standards prior to release and delivery.
  • Assist PED during the production and testing during the new product lines and trials.

 

Third Party Inspections

  • Carry out third party inspection and check the documentation for product release to ensure that the product meets the customer requirements.

 

Product Qualification tests (Pipes)

  • Calibrate all pipe testing & measuring equipment.
  • Conduct product qualification tests in co-ordination with the QA Engineer
  • Continuously update the company product qualifications in line with local/international regulators

 

Non-conforming product control

  • Identify raw material that does not meet specifications and coordinate further actions with relevant personnel and purchasing staff.
  • Identify substandard products and share information with the concerned personnel and departments.
  • Initiate corrective action (at all levels) to ensure compliance and minimize loss. 

Inventory

  • Monitor the store inventory checks for the major raw materials on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare the monthly stock count report and submit to QA/QC & HSE Manager, Plant Manager & GM

Employee Effectiveness

  • Promote employee engagement & team effectiveness.
  • Conduct annual performance appraisals and provide staff feedback.
  • Establish subordinates' annual objectives and targets.

HSE

  • Comply with relevant safety, quality and environmental control procedures and instructions.
  • Use personal protective equipment and safety gear when performing assigned tasks.
  • Keep operational areas clean and well organized to prevent incidents and accidents.
  • Report unsafe acts, incidents or safety violations.
  • Develop a safety culture by ensuring all staff comply with HSE policies and procedures.
  • Participate in QHSE audits, incident reporting and review of
