We are looking for a Public Policy Specialist to join our team and support our regulatory and governmental affairs strategy. This role will be responsible for engaging with policymakers, regulatory bodies, and industry stakeholders to shape policies that align with Thndr’s business objectives. The ideal candidate has experience navigating regulatory frameworks, developing policy strategies, and advocating for policies that foster financial innovation and inclusion.
Regulatory Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with regulatory authorities, policymakers, and government entities in key markets.
Policy Advocacy: Develop and execute public policy strategies that align with Thndr’s business goals, working to secure favorable regulatory changes.
Market Expansion: Support Thndr’s growth by engaging with regulators to acquire new licenses, unlock product opportunities, and navigate complex regulatory environments.
Legislative Monitoring: Track and analyze financial regulations, market trends, and policy developments that may impact Thndr’s operations.
Stakeholder Management: Represent Thndr and build relationships with the regulator, key stakeholders and government entities to ensure our interests are well-represented.
Internal Policy Guidance: Advise internal teams on regulatory compliance and help shape business strategies based on the evolving policy landscape.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with legal, compliance, product, and risk teams to integrate policy considerations into product development and expansion strategies.
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in public policy, regulatory affairs, government relations, or a related field within fintech, financial services, or a highly regulated industry.
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Policy, Law, Economics, Political Science, or a related field.
Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial regulations, capital markets, and fintech policy trends in MENA.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus.
Stakeholder Engagement: Experience working with regulators, policymakers, and industry stakeholders.
Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business.
Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving regulatory landscape.
