: Egypt-Cairo The Public Health Officer can works under the direct supervision of the Coordinator of the respective public health programme or geographical location or in small to medium-sized Country Offices directly under the WHO Representative. S/he is expected to perform his/her duties and responsibilities with highest degree of efficiency and sound judgment.
Major Duties and Responsibilities · Collaboration with health partners to ensure that humanitarian and public health assistance is in line with international priorities. The Public Health Officer liaises with various local partners mainly to secure data collection, to review technical reports and provide appropriate feedback as well as to coordinate implementation activities. Furthermore, the incumbent delivers capacity building training activities to various target audiences. The functions ensure that public health assistance is in line with international standards and local priorities by building the required capacities at the national level. By producing and analysing information on health threats, activities and outcomes, the functions can contribute to rapidly identifying and filling critical gaps in the health response during and after crisis.
