Job Description

Specific Responsibilities

The Production Expert is responsible for the day to day operations of the wells and facilities in their area of responsibility and specific assignments as directed by their Manager.  This a 14/14 rotational position.


•    Review and monitoring oil & gas operations, wells & well behaviours, gathering systems, RPFs, trucking requirements, flow rates, pressures, facility capacities/constraints, oil, water and gas ullages
•    Review and monitoring wells daily production volumes /  variances, any safety incidents, field activities, project updates, operational upsets, and any other issues that could impact production.  Review and discuss issues daily with their managers.
•    Provide recommendations for the operation / maintenance of wells, gathering systems, EPFs, tie-in of new wells, processing and storage facilities, rotating equipment, pipelines etc. across their area of responsibility to safely maximize sales volumes and minimize operating costs with a sense of urgency
•    Conduct Life Saving Rule safety audits to ensure procedures are being followed, incidents are reported and goals are being met.  Followup on incident investigations and ensure recommendations are being implemented. 
•    Communicate effectively and coordinate work with other departments such as Maintenance, Asset Integrity, Facility Engineering and Projects, Production Operations, Production Engineering, Drilling and Completions to optimize resources and minimize downtime / deferrals. 




Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:


•    BS Degree in Engineering Discipline
•    5 years experience working in an international JV environment
•    3 to 8 years operations experience all types of oil and gas operations: wells and well behaviours, artificial lift, gathering systems, water flood, oil and gas process systems, rotating equipment, compression, pipelines, safety programs, etc. 
•    Proficiency at using the industry standard suite of Microsoft Office applications
•    Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic integrated team environment & communicate effectively across disciplines.
•    Strong communication skills, be a self starter in identifying opportunities, overcoming obstacles and pursuing initiatives through to completion.
