Job Description
The Product Group Director will be responsible for overseeing the Software Product Department, which consists of several key verticals: Product Development and Delivery, Product Management, Quality Control (Software Testing), and Support. This role requires strong leadership, strategic vision, and a deep understanding of software development processes to ensure our products meet the highest standards and contribute to the company’s growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management:
- Lead and manage the Software Product Department, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence across all verticals.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for product development and maintenance, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
Vertical Oversight:
- Product Development and Delivery: Oversee all development squads, DevOps, and AI/Machine Learning developers to ensure efficient product development and timely delivery.
- Product Management: Guide product owners, design thinking specialists, UI/UX designers, and technical writers to create compelling product visions and documentation.
- Quality Control: Manage the Software Testing department to ensure all products meet rigorous quality standards before release.
- Support Department: Coordinate with the support team, utilizing development and testing resources to provide exceptional post-delivery maintenance and customer support.
Collaboration & Integration:
- Foster cooperation among all verticals to formalize a comprehensive environment that handles the entire product lifecycle—from ideation and business planning to development, delivery, and post-delivery maintenance.
- Work closely with sales and marketing teams to position and promote software products effectively in the market.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Engage with stakeholders, including the CTO and executive leadership, to communicate product strategies, progress, and performance metrics.
- Build and maintain relationships with key clients and partners to understand their needs and ensure product alignment.
- Performance Monitoring:
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of software products and the overall department.
- Analyze market trends and customer feedback to inform product enhancements and new development opportunities.
Team Development:
- Mentor and develop team members across all verticals, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and career growth.
- Foster a collaborative environment that encourages creativity and innovation within the product team.
