Job Description

The Commercial Planning and Performance Manager is responsible for managing the commercial planning cycle, ensuring alignment of performance metrics with business objectives, and driving revenue growth. This role involves close collaboration with the Head of Department and senior management to cascade commercial targets and monitor progress. A core focus includes analyzing segment profitability, refining pricing strategies, and providing actionable insights to optimize commercial performance and achieve organizational goals.

  • Planning and Alignment
  • Develop and implement a commercial performance model based on revenue, margin, and growth targets provided by senior management.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Department and senior management to align commercial KPIs with strategic goals.
  • Cascade annual revenue and sales targets into quarterly, monthly, and weekly objectives for the commercial team.
  • Performance Monitoring and Insights
  • Work with the data team to define, track, and report on commercial KPIs, including revenue growth, customer acquisition, retention, and profitability metrics.
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of each segment's economics and profitability, ensuring real-time visibility into performance at a granular level.
  • Provide segment-specific performance insights to identify areas of strength and improvement opportunities.
  • Take ownership of pricing strategies, ensuring alignment with market dynamics, profitability goals, and competitive positioning.
  • Conduct regular reviews with the commercial team to assess performance, share insights, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Problem-solving and Continuous Improvement
  • Analyze trends and identify inefficiencies in commercial processes, proposing actionable solutions to enhance performance.
  • Address challenges in achieving sales and profitability targets by collaborating with cross-functional teams such as marketing, finance, and operations.
  • Refine the commercial planning and performance framework by incorporating feedback from stakeholders and market dynamics.

  • Experience: 4–5 years in commercial planning, sales performance management, or analytics.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data modeling to support performance tracking and analysis.
  • Analytical & Strategic Thinking:
  • Ability to derive actionable insights from complex datasets and anticipate future market trends.
  • Strong understanding of pricing strategies and segment-level profitability analysis.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with senior management and commercial teams effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, solution-driven approach to challenges.
  • Leadership and collaboration skills to align teams and ensure seamless execution of strategies.
