Job Description:



Department: Admissions and Recruiting

Position Title: Online Admission Counselor



Supervisor: Director of Admissions

Responsibilities:



■ Process admission applications and determine admissibility of 100% on line degree
applicants
■ Review, analyze, and evaluate documents from previous educational institutions for
transfer credit based on LSUA policies and procedures for transfer students, including completing unofficial evaluations of transfer degree credit
■ Verify the eligibility of students entering LSUA concerning academic bankruptcy, credit by examination, suspension, and probation
■ Work with LSU Online staff to assist students with completing applications
■ Counsel prospective students on admission requirements and processes
■ Maintain working knowledge of curricula for the benefit of aiding prospective students with selecting an academic program
■ Assist with special events on campus as needed
■ Performs other tasks that may be assigned by the Director of Admissions or the
Associate Vice-Chancellor of Enrollment Management

Qualifications:



■ Bachelor's degree required from an accredited institution of higher education
■ Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, verbally, and in writing
■ Ability to travel, including overnight travel
■ Willingness to work outside of normal business hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed
■ Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, while remaining organized
■ Demonstrated ability to represent the university with a positive and professional image
■ Ability to present information to audiences, both small and large
■ Experience with working with a team to achieve goals
Applicant must hold a valid driver's license and have a clear driving record
