Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops, reviews and evaluates technical documentation and engineering studies for mechanical systems and equipment, situated in the plant and on the site, comprising the nuclear power plant and spent nuclear fuel storage facilities. These systems include the Nuclear Process Support Systems, Steam Supply, Feedwater, Chemical, Compressed Air, Water Disposal, Fire-fighting, Water Processing and Ventilation Systems and Lifting Equipment.
- Evaluates the design and operation of the mechanical systems and sub-systems at the power plant and ensures effective system integration across the engineering disciplines.
- Develops, reviews and evaluates testing, commissioning, operation, and maintenance documentation for the plant mechanical systems and components.
- Develops, reviews and evaluates engineering studies, calculations and evaluations.
- Reviews Flow Analysis, Piping Stress Analysis and Finite Element Analysis.
- Stays abreast of the latest advancements in technology, design trends, and engineering best practices for Nuclear Island, Turbine Island and Balance of Plant related systems.
- Develops training material and conducts training and coaching on engineering processes, principles and system design and operation of Nuclear Island, Turbine Island and Balance of Plant related systems.
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree beneficial) in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Power Generation and Energy.
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical engineering on large scale projects.
- Nuclear power industry related experience is required.
- Knowledge of water properties (working with the I-S and derivative T-S diagram), thermodynamic, thermohydraulic and hydrodynamic.
- Knowledge of vessels operating under pressure, atmospheric pressure and vacuum, rotating equipment (pumps, fans and compressors), valves, heat exchanger installations and associated equipment, fittings and pipelines.
- Familiar with design, manufacturing, testing and operational codes and standards for systems under pressure, ventilation, lifting equipment and fire suppression.
- Familiar with principles and means of measurement and control of thermohydraulic processes.
- 2D and 3D CAD, CAM, Flow Analysis, Piping Stress Analysis, Finite Element programs software experience is recommended.

- Proactive team player, proven to be effective in a multi-cultural environment
- Understanding Russian or Arabic is beneficial.
