We are seeking a Mid -Senior Computer Vision Engineer to enhance and develop our computer vision capabilities for one of our clients This individual will work with TensorFlow Lite and Angular in our front-end applications and be a core part of building robust, real-time vision models. The ideal candidate should have deep knowledge of open-source models, especially in YOLO and similar frameworks, and be capable of tuning and optimizing these models for our constrained hardware. A proactive mindset and the ability to create a roadmap for advancing demographic analysis are essential.

Digital retailers use data to study shoppers’ online behavior, predict their needs, and eliminate any friction points in the decision-making process. As a result, they provide shopping journeys that are very low on cognitive stress and therefore high on conversions/revenue. The problem is that digital-born retailers are moving to the offline world to increase their market share, and physical retailers are lacking the technology to compete with the complex data models of digital ones have.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of computer vision solutions using TensorFlow Lite and Angular.
• Research, evaluate, and benchmark open-source computer vision models to identify the best fits for our needs.
• Optimize models for edge devices with limited computational power through techniques like quantization and pruning.
• Collect, preprocess, and manage datasets for training, testing, and evaluating computer vision models.
• Fine-tune pre-existing models (e.g., YOLO, SSD) and develop custom models to meet specific project goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including front-end and back-end developers, to ensure seamless integration of computer vision capabilities.
• Define and execute a strategic roadmap for improving demographic analysis through computer vision.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in computer vision and machine learning and proactively propose new ideas and approaches.
• Ensure high model accuracy and performance with a strong focus on optimizing for low-power hardware.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 2-5 years of experience in computer vision and machine learning engineering roles.
• Strong proficiency in TensorFlow Lite and TensorFlow.
• Experience with Angular (or equivalent front-end framework) for front-end integration.
• Proven experience working with and optimizing models like YOLO, SSD, or Faster R-CNN.
• Deep knowledge of model quantization, pruning, and optimization for edge or low-power devices.
• Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and computer vision techniques such as object detection, classification, segmentation, and tracking.
• Experience with data collection, model evaluation, and performance benchmarking.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, and deliver high-quality results with minimal supervision.
• Proactive mindset with the ability to define and implement roadmaps, especially in the area of demographic analysis.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with custom model development for unique business cases.
• Familiarity with deploying models on resource-constrained environments such as mobile devices, IoT, or embedded systems.
• Previous work in the digital signage, pDOOH, or advertising space is a plus.
• Experience with other frameworks like PyTorch is a bonus.
