Role Objectives
The Mid Mile Dispatch Lead will responsible for overseeing and managing the dispatch operations of a mid-mile transportation network coordinating and optimizing the movement of goods and shipments within the mid-mile transportation network. You will lead a team of dispatchers and work closely with various stakeholders, including warehouse managers, FPs, Facilities and drivers to ensure efficient and timely delivery of products.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Logistics Management, Route optimization
Oversee the planning and execution of transportation and logistics operations
Coordinate the movement of internal orders from WHs and internal facilities to FPs.
Optimize routes and transportation modes to minimize costs and transit times.
Develop and implement strategies for route optimization, considering factors such as distance, FPs proximity from each other and Internal orders delivery schedule.
Implement tracking systems and technologies to provide real-time visibility into Internal orders status and location.
Ensure timely and accurate updates to stakeholders regarding internal orders progress.
Mid Mile Suppliers Management
Collaborate with third-party carriers and vendors to secure transportation services.
Negotiate contracts, rates, and service level agreements with carriers and vendors.
Monitor carrier performance and ensure compliance with agreed-upon terms.
Cost Control and Budget Management:
Manage transportation budgets and expenses effectively.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and strategies to improve cost-efficiency.
New Suppliers Onboarding
Performance Metrics and KPIs
Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the performance of the middle mile operations.
Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Address issues related to delays, disruptions, and damaged goods.
Communication
Collaborate closely with other supply chain stakeholders, including Warehouses and facilities teams and FPs, to ensure seamless end-to-end logistics.
Maintain clear and effective communication with internal teams, carriers, vendors, and suppliers.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancements in middle mile operations.
Implement best practices and industry standards to drive continuous improvement.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS
Bachelor's degree
Understanding of dispatching procedures, including routing, scheduling, and tracking
