Job Description
The MEP Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within construction projects. This role requires a deep understanding of MEP systems to ensure they meet project requirements and industry standards. The MEP Engineer will work closely with the project team to deliver systems that are efficient, sustainable, and within budget.
Design and Planning:
- Develop detailed MEP system designs based on project specifications, client needs, and industry standards.
- Create and review technical drawings, specifications, Shop drawings, Procurements & Execution plans for MEP systems using design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
- Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure MEP systems integrate seamlessly with the overall project design.
- Preparing cost estimates for electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, heating and ventilation systems.
- Review the contractual Bill of Quantities “BOQ".
- Participate with Project Manager in estimating the price of the subcontractor and the casual labor price.
Project Implementation:
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of MEP systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor the progress and quality of MEP installations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to MEP systems during the construction phase.
- Managing multiple MEP projects.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Work closely with the project management team to align MEP work with project timelines and milestones.
- Liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Provide technical support and guidance to on-site teams and subcontractors.
- Review the warehouses regarding the materials stored in them.
Quality Control and Compliance:
- Ensure all MEP systems comply with local building codes, regulations, and environmental standards.
- Perform tests and inspections to verify the functionality and safety of MEP installations.
- Document all work processes and prepare reports on project progress and any issues encountered.
- Review the materials supplied to the site if they are in conformity with the approved or not.
Sustainability and Innovation:
- Incorporate energy-efficient and sustainable practices in MEP designs and installations.
- Stay updated on the latest technologies and innovations in MEP systems to enhance project outcomes
