This position works out of our [Cairo, Egypt] in the Established Pharmaceutical Division where we are committed to bringing the benefits of our trusted medicines to more people in the world’s fastest-growing countries. Our broad portfolio of high-quality and differentiated branded generic medicines reaches across multiple therapeutic areas including gastroenterology, women's health, cardiometabolic, pain management/central nervous system, and respiratory.
As Market Access- Government Access Lead, you will be responsible for managing all tender business logistics & Negotiations for all tenders Including UPA, Private Hospitals tenders & other Special organization tenders.
• Responsible for setting access strategy, implementation Plans and execution for National Formulary Enlisting in Gov’t sector for EPD business.
• Responsible for follow up the localization projects with related key HA’s & Internal stakeholders.
• Responsible for strategic partnership with all Key Health Authorities.
• Responsible for Managing HTA economic Models in Alignment with Local Market Access Strategy & Global Guidelines
• Plays an essential role in developing & communicating value strategies that address questions and influence the key decision makers.
What You’ll Do:
Obtain, maintain and optimize formulary listing in tenders - Formulate formulary listing (or de-listing) strategy. - Analyze opportunities and risks across EPD portfolio. - Specify formulary listing in Gov’t sectors. - Maximize formulary Enlisting results Aligned with Commercial teams & Institution KAMs - Negotiate with MAx authorities and Enlisting committees. Visit and engage assigned MA authorities and customers on a regular basis MA authorities and customers include:
- Gov’t sectors committees relevant for market access decision-making
- Reimbursement authorities (e.g. UHIA & H.I.O) - Payers (e.g. UPA)
- MOH National decision Makers including Preventive Medicines & Psychiatry Sector
-Presidential Initiatives Stakeholders
- Experts and advisors to MAx authorities
- HTA Agencies & HTA Departments Decision makers in all Gov’t Organizations
- Gov’t Stakeholders engaged in Localization Projects.
Strategic planning to build distinguished quality access and sustainable win-win partnership.
- Perform systematic stakeholder mapping, gain thorough understanding of formal and informal decision-making.
-Understand the Gov’t Sectors needs at organization and decision makers levels.
- Lay out short- and long-term Gov’t sector access vision, goals, key strategies & Tactics
- Lead the execution of strategic partnership at the assigned MAx authorities/ committees
- Proper integration of key risks & opportunities, strategies & tactics into country Market Access Plan
- Monitor competitors’ strategies and prepare appropriate Market access responses.
Improve access policies and conditions.
- Monitor closely changing dynamics in the country including Healthcare system dynamics in terms of access policies & conditions, such as reimbursement, formulary listing, EDA & other relevant payer polices & guidelines, as well as tender Business Dynamics
- Submission of Horizon Scan report to global MAx on Monthly basis.
- Identify opportunities to grow in Gov’t sectors
- Setting Gov’t Access strategy in alignment with other related functions
Identify and execute payer value-added programs
Identify Gov’t sector specific payer value-added Engagement programs which provide short- or/and long-term success for EPD portfolio. This may be payer engagement programs, or local health economics studies aligned with other MAx related colleagues
Decision-making/ impact: Accountable for reimbursement, formulary listing and Gov’t payer policies at Gov’t sectors & Private tenders. Accountable for handling All tender logistics in alignment with other related functions.
Required Qualifications
Education required: University degree with medical background Health-economics Degree will be a highly added Value
Experience/Training required:
- > 10 years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry including a significant experience in Market Access authorities and/ or formulary listing committees, preferably with experience working on BGx & Biosimilars.
- Work Experience with Gov’t Organizations (UPA, HIO, UHIA, EHA, Presidential Initiatives, Preventive Medicine….)
- Good experience in tender management.
- Experience working in a multinational company with a matrix organization.
- Ability to interpret and integrate Market Access strategies into actionable, value-added planning activities.
- Excellent communications, Negotiations & interpersonal skills. Strong ability to develop relationships with external & Internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.
