Job Description

Job Purpose :


providing legal expertise and counselling in legal expertise areas while working directly with key stakeholders and business leaders.


Key and Main Accountabilities


Contract Review & Negotiation:


  • Report to the Country Legal Director and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including without limitation supply agreements, Service Agreement, manufacturing, Medical Agreements, and confidentiality agreements.
  • Ensure contractual obligations align with company policies and business objectives, providing legal insights to drive effective agreements across multiple markets within the (MCO).

Cross-Border Projects & MCO Initiatives:


  • Contribute to legal support for cross-border projects and strategic initiatives within the MCO, ensuring alignment with Regional Legal standards and business goals.
  • Collaborate with teams in other countries on joint projects, offering legal insights and promoting best practices across the MCO.

Regulatory Compliance:


  • Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical laws and regulations and industry standards.
  • Monitor and advise on new regulations impacting the pharmaceutical sector, implementing policies as needed.
  • Build, maintain and update legal database and files.

Risk Management & Dispute Resolution:


  • Assist in managing disputes and litigation, coordinating with external counsel when required.
  • conduct legal research when needed and produce relevant legal reports.

Corporate Governance & General Counsel Support:


  • Provide support on corporate governance matters and maintain company records as needed.
  • Follow up on matters related to company structure & board of directors with all competent authorities including but not limited to general authority for investment & free zones, capital market authority, commercial registry & notary public.

Training and Development:


Provide training to other teams on legal issues relevant to their roles and responsibilities.

  • Abide by the requirements of the code of Ethics including but not restricted to maintaining high professional standards of conduct in line with the Company procedure with a duty of care to the reputation of the Company 

Ethical Leadership


  • Takes personal accountability to use personal experience and knowledge, as well as the training and tools provided by Sanofi, to maintain a good knowledge and understanding of all ethics and governance relevant to the role (including the Industry Code of Practice, Sanofi Policies and Procedures and any relevant legal requirements) and demonstrate personal leadership in applying these to all work undertaken.

  • Comply with company procedures and current regulations on hygiene and safety.
  • Properly use the work equipment, dangerous substances, and preparations as well as the supplied collective and personal protective equipment according to the instructions received.
  • Promote and follow the HSE rules and ‘Act responsibly’ to protect yourself and others from an injury and ill health conditions while at the work locations and/or while using road e.g. traffic rules, emergency evacuation procedure, medical surveillance, healthy lifestyle etc.
  • Engage the HSE department in the related activities (where applicable) and be sure that the work performed follows the local HSE regulations, Corporate HSE Policy and key requirements.
  • Attend HSE training.
  • Promptly report to your superior any dangerous conditions of which you become awar

Qualifications & Skills:


- Education: Bachelor’s degree in law (JD or equivalent). Admission to the bar in Egypt.


- Experience: 5-7 years of relevant legal experience, ideally in the pharmaceutical or life sciences sector.


- Knowledge: Strong understanding of pharmaceutical regulations and Commercial law.


- Skills:


  • Excellent English written and verbal communication.
  • French language [Preferred].
  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to think strategically and provide legal advice that aligns with business objectives.
  • Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to act decisively in complex situations.
  • Ethical Conduct: High ethical standards and integrity.
