Job Description
The Landscape Manager: is responsible for the care, maintenance, and design of plant life in public areas of Fairmont Nile City Hotel. This role involves overseeing horticultural and plant management functions to enhance the aesthetic appeal and environmental quality of the hotel grounds and public spaces.
Qualifications
Key Deliverables and Responsibilities
- Plant Care and Maintenance
- Maintains and ensures the health of plants and greenery in public areas, including determining appropriate plant species for each area.
- Cultivates and propagates a variety of ornamental plants, both indoor and outdoor, to enhance the hotel's public spaces.
- Selects and purchases plants, fertilizers, plant nutrients, and necessary pest control products.
- Provides daily maintenance to plants, identifies any plant needs, and provides appropriate solutions for their care.
- Staff Supervision and Coordination
- Coordinates and supervises full-time and seasonal staff involved in plant care and maintenance across the hotel's public areas.
- Ensures that all horticultural activities are carried out efficiently and effectively.
- Interior and Exterior Plant Design
- Plans and designs plant displays for indoor and outdoor spaces, ensuring they complement the hotel’s aesthetic and atmosphere.
- Coordinates with other departments to ensure plant installations align with the hotel's seasonal themes and events.
- Recommendations for Plant Selection
- Recommends improvements to plant displays and placement within public areas of the hotel, ensuring they are visually appealing and appropriate for each location.
- Provides expertise on the types of plants suited for specific hotel environments, including the hotel’s lobbies, corridors, event spaces, and outdoor terraces.
- Maintenance of Plant Health
- Supervises and participates in regular maintenance activities such as pruning, cleaning, repotting, and fertilization.
- Develops and implements pest management strategies to ensure plant health, using integrated pest management methods where necessary.
- Guest Interaction and Education
- Engages with hotel guests to share information about the plants and displays throughout the hotel, enhancing their experience.
- Record-Keeping and Inventory Management
- Maintains accurate records of plant inventory, equipment, and materials used in plant care.
- Tracks the condition of plants and ensures regular updates on plant maintenance schedules.
- Administrative Support
- Assists with administrative tasks related to horticultural and plant care operations, including budgeting, ordering supplies, and scheduling.
- Other Duties
- Performs other related duties as required to ensure the health and beauty of the hotel’s plant life and public spaces.

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift.
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs.
