What are my responsibilities?


  • Develop and implement test plans for static and dynamic testing by contractual requirements and standards.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies to schedule and execute tests.
  • Ensure all testing activities are aligned with project timelines and objectives.
  • Follow up on the T&C activities.
  • Attend the weekly LOTs T&C meetings.
  • Work in close coordination with the TOT Interface Engineer to ensure the train and staff are available for approved system-level test works.
  • Ensure that all the System-Level testing and commissioning work planning and the related permit-to-work applications and access requests discussed in the weekly works planning meetings are processed as per the T&C Sequence.
  • Oversee the validation compliance with EN 50317, EN 50119, EN 50122, EN 50110, EN 50121, EN 50367, EN 50318, EN 50388, EN 50562, and EN 50206-1.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to ensure all systems meet the required standards.
  • Ensure appropriate sensors and data acquisition systems are used to collect test data.
  • Analyze test results to identify any discrepancies or areas for improvement.
  • Prepare detailed test reports and documentation.
  • Implement and monitor safety protocols during testing procedures.
  • Ensure all testing activities adhere to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical support during the installation and commissioning phases.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during testing.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in railway standards and testing methodologies.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to testing processes and procedures.
  • Build & maintain a good and effective communication network with internal and external parties.
  • Promote and implement the rules and procedures outlined in the track possession process, construction & commissioning rulebook, and commissioning manual.
  • Coordinate with Customer Service in case failures in the system are found during the Trial Run period.
  • Follow the safety rules and all necessary procedures to ensure compliance during the implementation of the site incident response procedure.
  • Collaborate to ensure the rolling stock meets the dynamic interaction requirements of EN 50317.
  • Coordinate testing schedules and data sharing.
  • Electrification Contractor:
  • Work together to validate the overhead contact line system and its interaction with the pantograph.
  • Ensure compliance with EN 50119 and related standards.
  • Work together to validate the interfaces between traction systems and SCADA.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration between all parties involved in the project
  • Coordinate resources and access to the test track.
  • Ensure safe and efficient use of the track for testing purposes.
  • Interface with internal teams to align testing activities with overall project goals.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on testing progress and results.

What do I need to qualify for this job?


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced degrees or certifications in railway engineering or a related discipline are a plus.
  • Experience from 3-6 years in railway testing and validation, particularly with high-speed rail projects.
  • Experience with international railway projects.
  • Knowledge of additional railway standards and regulations.
  • Familiarity with EN standards, especially EN 50317 and related standards.
  • Proficiency in using testing equipment and data acquisition systems.
  • Strong analytical skills for data interpretation and problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of simulation tools and methods for validating dynamic interactions.
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems and the integration of traction substations with SCADA.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and manage complex testing schedules.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English.
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports and documentation.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all testing activities.
