You will execute our import and export operations to ensure our goods arrive on time at the lowest landed cost while ensuring customs compliance with regulations. To excel in this role, you will work collaboratively with business partners to ensure effective management, timely solutions and execution. Externally, you will be responsible for the operational management of third-party logistics vendors, customs brokers, freight forwarders and other stakeholders needed to perform and deliver the requirements of this role. Additionally, you will be responsible for activities such as documentation preparation (invoice, packing list, bills of lading), customs management, track and trace, claims management, invoice billing management, compliance execution (HSE, quality, risk management), tenders support, and third-party performance management. 


How you will contribute


You will: 


  • Provide a high-level of service to the export intercompany shipments process conducted by direct reports and support to all functions involved in the process
  • Be responsible for export of intercompany shipments including SAP billing documents creation
  • Be responsible for other export documents preparation – all of types of certificates
  • Cooperate with external parties—for example customs agencies
  • Cooperate with the warehouse team and third-party logistics operators for shipment preparation

What you need to know about this position:


  • Manage and ensure smooth punctual and compliant import, direct exports & clearance process of all Egypt BU imports (RMPM, FG, Spare parts & machinery.)
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and proper clearance process
  • Act as the point of contact and representative with customs authorities and become continuously informed with new systems and regulations in his area and work on informing MDLZ internal stakeholders on the same
  • Ensure proper submission/filling of all imports and clearance related documents submitted to authorities including form 4 and other documents
  • Lead the annual contract renewal for brokerage and ensure the best inbound rates in the market are contracted in compliance with relevant policies
  • Ensure MDLZ is getting the proper performance of the brokers and that agreed KPIs are met
  • Customs duties payment verification and approval through workflow
  • Freight invoices verification and approval through workflow
  • Support with new projects cross function teams in new initiatives launches and IBRs calculations
  • Verify and review storage & demurrage charges and ensure these costs are minimized through proper actions and loss analysis
  • Review the incoterms of incoming orders and prevent any payments by MDLZ that should be paid by other parties
  • Lead the spot quotation process to ensure best rates are ensured while meeting the mandatory ETAs, for both imports and direct exports.
  • Ensure the routing guide is followed and that all our lanes are included the annual bidding.
  • Contributes to the AC budget building through bottom-up budget building in his area, and contribute to productivity targets through doing loss analysis and identifying saving initiatives
  • Embrace digital in his area wherever applicable to enable MDLZ digital transformation
  • Embrace IL6S as a way of work to ensure continuous improvement and contribute to CS&L CBN delivery
