Job Description

Octopus by RTG is enabling one of our key clients to find their Head of Applications, they will spearhead the development, management, and optimization of all digital applications. You will be responsible for driving the strategic direction of the technology solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals, and leading cross-functional collaboration to deliver top-tier digital experiences for different customers. You will oversee application architecture, ensure secure and efficient technology usage, and lead a high-performing development team to ensure continuous innovation and improvement.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Planning and Development
  • Define and lead the strategic direction for all applications, driving the growth and digital transformation of the eCommerce platform.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure technical strategies align with business goals and long-term vision.
Technology Strategy and Implementation
  • Work closely with the CTO and other leaders to develop and execute technology strategies that support the company’s objectives.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement innovative technologies to maintain a competitive edge in the eCommerce sector.
Project Management and Execution
  • Lead the end-to-end management of application development projects, ensuring on-time delivery, adherence to budget, and achievement of high-quality standards.
  • Coordinate with marketing, sales, finance, and legal teams to ensure cohesive implementation of digital initiatives and go-live plans.
System Architecture and Optimization
  • Oversee application and system architecture to ensure scalability, performance, and security.
  • Consolidate technology platforms and develop strategic plans for optimizing applications, improving performance, and supporting future growth.
Cross-functional Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as Marketing, Sales, and Operations to understand business requirements and ensure technology solutions meet organizational needs.
  • Gather and incorporate feedback from stakeholders to drive continuous improvements and enhancements in application performance.
Quality Assurance and Data Protection
  • Implement and maintain robust quality assurance processes to ensure secure and efficient data collection and processing across all applications.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and best practices, safeguarding sensitive customer and business information.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
  • Develop and maintain frameworks for tracking, analyzing, and monitoring the performance of applications to ensure operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Regularly report on the performance of applications and key metrics to senior management, proposing adjustments and enhancements as necessary.
Team Leadership and Development
  • Build, mentor, and lead a talented development team, establishing a high-performing unit that can deliver exceptional results.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and collaboration within the technology department.
Technical Support and Post-Launch Operations
  • Manage technical support and operations post-project completion to ensure ongoing application performance and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with IT and support teams to troubleshoot and resolve any application-related issues swiftly.
