THE JOB:



The primary responsibility of the Slots Guest Services Representative is to enhance the guest experience by addressing property and slot-related inquiries, facilitating slot machine payouts, and enrolling guests in the MGM Resorts International Rewards Program. This role requires the completion of necessary regulatory and federal tax paperwork, as well as the proper validation of guest age using government-issued IDs. All duties must be performed in compliance with gaming regulations and departmental policies, practices, and procedures.
STARTING RATE: $16/hour plus tips

THE DAY-TO-DAY:



Process jackpots: Accurately pay slot machine jackpots and complete all required paperwork, including IRS W2G/1042-S forms, neatly and efficiently.
Enroll guests: Assist guests in enrolling in the MGM Resorts International Rewards Program by verifying government-issued ID and age using property enrollment devices.
Address inquiries: Aid guests regarding any property or slot-related questions, ensuring their needs are met.
Maintain cleanliness: Keep the slot area organized and tidy, ensuring that slot machine chairs are pushed in, and guests receive personalized service.
Perform minor repairs: Execute minor repairs on slot machines, such as clearing EZ-Pay ticket and bill jams and replacing ticket paper.
Foster a welcoming environment: Greet each guest with a smile, maintaining eye contact to create a friendly atmosphere.
Monitor section: Continuously circulate through an assigned section, responding promptly to slot machine alerts and lights.
Stay informed: Keep well-informed about the different types of slot machines available on the casino floor to assist guests in finding specific machines or denominations.
Make recommendations: Suggest MGM shows, restaurants, and attractions to guests while staying current on company news and events to effectively answer questions.
Ensure compliance: Maintain awareness of guests under the legal gambling age of 21, reporting any violations to a supervisor or Security as necessary.
Adhere to policies: Comply with all departmental and company policies and procedures, including Title 31 regulations.
Additional Duties: Perform other job-related duties as requested.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:



Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent educational experience.
Availability: Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays
Customer service skills: Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills, ensuring a positive experience for all guests while addressing their needs and inquiries promptly.
Hospitality/casino experience: Bring previous experience in a hospitality or casino environment, showcasing an understanding of guest services and operational procedures.
Cash handling proficiency: Exhibit strong cash handling skills, with the ability to accurately process transactions and manage monetary exchanges.
Physical requirements: Be capable of standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, and squatting throughout the shift. Must also be able to lift, pull, and carry up to 20 lbs. as required.
Team player: Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a positive work environment and effectively support team goals and initiatives.
