Job Purpose
The GET program is developed to give graduates the opportunity to rapidly develop in AkzoNobel and Manufacturing Department, while having an international experience. During the graduate programme, you will receive on-the-job training across diverse assignments in different areas: continuous improvement, project engineering, process engineering, production planning and/or reliability engineering. Following this program, job holder will have the opportunity to be deployed to another site within AkzoNobel. At the end of the graduate programme, based on readiness and performance, job holder will be assigned a final role in discussion with the Regional Manufacturing Organization from your host sites.
Key Accountabilities
- Actively participate in all site health, safety, environment, quality and sustainability activities.
- Use of statistical analysis and appropriate business excellence project management processes to identify areas of significant improvement and develops plans to realize the benefits
- Investigate root cause of process failures, develop solutions for non-conforming products and implement improvement plans.
- Understand and improve Manufacturing strategy and input into site development plan based on current capabilities.
- Utilise the integrated asset management program within the sites lean operating principles, including the use of Work Management, Tactics, Condition Monitoring, Defect Elimination, Operate for Reliability, Core Competencies and Metrics.
- Generate and utilise charts and graphs to identify and analyse losses to prioritize opportunities for improvement
- Analysis and improvement of material efficiencies.
Key Activities
Process Engineering
- Interfaces with central engineering for new projects ensuring that changes on site are controlled and managed through documented MoC process
- Provides expertise for onsite operations group during process related troubleshooting issues.
- During project execution, plays a major role in commissioning, start-up and training, and then owning the technology for the site.
- Contributes to site (process) improvements and contributes to CI / ALPS projects.
Project Engineering
- Prepares, schedules, coordinates, and monitors the assigned engineering projects.
- Cooperates and communicates daily with project members and stakeholders to interpret their needs and requirements and provides assistance and technical support.
- Performs overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and reports regularly on project status.
- Audits projects after completion to measure project results against original project goals.
- Reviews engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
Experience
- Fresh graduate with a positive attitude – From Bachelor (or Master’s degree) in all engineering discipline (electrical, mechanical, chemical, mechatronics, industrial, etc.)
- Maximum one-year experience
- Willingness to re-locate as part of the programme
- Exhibit high initiative and leadership in student organizations/extracurricular activities
- High learning agility and high adaptability
- Willing to learn & experience different functions/knowledge. Open & proactive to share and exchange
- Excellent communication skills and inquisitive nature
- Ability to think on his/her feet; and to influence and work as part of a team
- Logical thinking. Analytical skills
- Desire to live the AkzoNobel values and behaviours and cultural principles.
- Ability to interact effectively with customers, community and other AkzoNobel visitors on a regular basis.
- Awareness of Functional Safety legislation and Safety Integrated Systems.
- HSE / quality compliance experience.
- Capable of applying continuous improvement principles to reduce and control loss and waste
- Understanding and application of 5S in the workplace.
- Open for mobility (international). Can relocate to other countries on completion of the GET programme
