Job Description

Specific Responsibilities

The Global Mobility Analyst Sr, Egypt will be a member of Apache’s Global Human Resources team and will be based in Cairo, Egypt. The role will serve as the company’s local resource for host country support to incoming expats, manage assignments in progress, and support with repatriation efforts as end-to-end on a wide range of expatriate processes in Egypt, and will also play a key role across Apache’s global operations. The Global Mobility Analyst Sr, Egypt will report to the Global Mobility Manager in Houston and be able to work independently in various global time zone settings and produce a high quality of work.  This role will be the main point of contact for Expatriates and their families in Egypt and should have experience in coordination of expatriate related activities, such as host country immigration procedures, new expat orientation process, coordination of expat relocation activities, and liaising with expatriates throughout the duration of their assignments. Responsibilities will include:


  • Providing day-to-day support to global expatriate assignees and human resources department;
  • Administration of the company’s expatriate assignment policy, relocation policy and tax policy and any local modifications to the global policy through a standardized application consistent with the intent of the core policies;
  • Interpret, educate, and coach assignees and line management on the policies and process;
  • Coordinate the process of preparation of assignment letters; compensation worksheets, visas and work permits; global relocation process; maintaining regular communication with the global assignee and family;
  • Analyze people cost recovery while following a data driven approach to enhance the decision making;
  • Maintain data, reporting, and analysis on routine expat processes to efficiently administer the program relating to assignment initiations, repatriations, work permit and visa applications and extensions;
  • Initiate timely renewals and applications for work permits and visas that includes HIV test, letters and others;
  • Plan and track the cost of work permits and visas, timely request and settle payments with original receipts;
  • Coordinate local requirements to import HHG shipments for relocating expats;
  • Maintain proper and updated org. chart of Apache’s approved positions at EGPC and the JVs;
  • Build and maintain work relations with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Assist with on boarding of new expatriates;
  • Process relocation, tax and other vendor invoices;
  • Oversee and progress tasks and processes that are required through coordination with Egypt Accounting, General Services, Travel, and Security teams;
  • Prepare spreadsheets for monthly expatriate accounting processes;
  • Assist employees with questions relating to pay and attendance;
  • Assist with year-end payroll questions;
  • Maintain employee files for payroll; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Global Mobility Manager.
     


Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:


  • Minimum of five years of Expatriate assignment administration or related HR experience;
  • General background and knowledge of International Human Resources fundamentals, including tax equalization, relocation benefits, assignment allowances, immigration requirements;
  • Experience in dealing with governmental institutions in Egypt;
  • Experience in corporate life and dealing with expatriates;
  • Native Arabic and Fluent English (writing and speaking);
  • Translation certificate and HRM diploma are plus;
  • Ability to navigate and progress the goals of the department with an understanding of the varied stakeholders including decision makers in order to allow for the seamless management of the expat population;
  • Demonstrated interpersonal relations, global cultural awareness, and written/oral communication skills;
  • Team player with demonstrated ability to work with all levels within the organization;
  • Willing to occasionally travel globally;
  • Demonstrated problem solving, conflict resolution and project management skills;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite;
  • Must have a solid understanding of a variety of software applications and web-based technologies;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, International Business or related field.
