Apache is seeking a proven and creative Advisor Geoscientist with 15+ years of experience to explore the Western Desert with Apache’s Egypt exploration and development team. This position will report to the discipline functional Director (Geology or Geophysics) and be assigned to the Egypt Asset Team located in Cairo, Egypt.
The primary responsibility for this job is prospect generation within the Egypt team. This team is tasked with growing exploration and development inventory using geological and geophysical workflows and data.
• The successful candidate will be part of a high-performing team whose primary goal is to build prospect inventory, prepare and recommend wells for drilling, execution and post appraisal of drilled wells, and sharing results within the asset for continuous improvement.
• Candidate will be an expert in exploration and development of oil and natural gas resources as well integration of all geological and engineering data into prospects, resource sizing and risking using probabilistic assessment tools (e.g. GeoX).
• An in-depth knowledge and a proven track record of conventional reservoir exploration and development is required. Excellent cross-functional teamwork skills are also critical to success in the role.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, experience running a full rig line
• The ability to make technically and economically sound recommendations with incomplete information.
• Strong data integration, mapping, and workstation skills. Practical to expert knowledge of Petrel software and workflows.
• Proven experience in a diversity of structural settings (extensional, strike-slip, compressional).
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
• M.S. in Geology or Geophysics
• Minimum of 15 years of industry experience
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
• Effective communication, interpersonal, management, administrative, organizational, and leadership skills
• Experience implementing sound decisions when faced with multi-faceted problems
