Job Description
Conduct Geological Studies and Field Surveys:
- Collect and analyze geological data for project sites.
- Perform field surveys to study soil, rocks, and groundwater conditions.
- Determine soil characteristics and assess their suitability for engineering and construction projects.
Analyze Geological and Soil Samples:
- Collect samples and conduct geotechnical tests in laboratories or on-site.
- Analyze soil and rock properties to determine strength, durability, and potential geological risks.
- Prepare geotechnical reports with recommendations for foundation and structural stability.
Assess Geological and Environmental Risks:
- Study geological factors such as earthquakes, landslides, and erosion impacts on projects.
- Evaluate geological and environmental risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Provide recommendations for protective measures and minimizing negative geological effects.
Participate in Engineering Planning and Design:
- Offer geological consultation to civil and structural engineers in project designs.
- Propose suitable geological solutions for various projects (roads, bridges, tunnels, dams, etc.).
- Work with design teams to ensure project execution aligns with geological requirements.
Supervise Geological and Field Projects:
- Oversee drilling and geological exploration operations to ensure compliance with required standards.
- Monitor geotechnical work execution and ensure adherence to geological recommendations.
- Improve drilling and laboratory analysis techniques to enhance study accuracy.
Prepare Reports and Documentation:
- Develop geological and technical reports detailing analysis results and recommendations.
- Provide geological studies for regulatory authorities and investors to support decision-making.
- Use geological modeling software to prepare maps and analytical reports.
Coordinate with Various Stakeholders:
- Work with contractors and consultants to ensure project compliance with geological recommendations.
- Collaborate with environmental and geological agencies to meet regulatory standards.
- Provide consultation on natural resource extraction, such as minerals and groundwater.
Skills
: Bachelor's degree in Geological Engineering, Applied Geology, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years in geological and geotechnical studies.
- Advanced knowledge of geological, soil, and rock analysis.
- Proficiency in geological software such as ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, RockWorks.
- Ability to conduct field and laboratory tests with accuracy.
- Analytical skills to solve problems and assess geological risks.
- Strong report-writing and communication skills to collaborate with engineering teams.
