Chefaa is a pioneering digital health platform in Egypt dedicated to enhancing the accessibility of healthcare services through a seamless online experience. We are seeking an Engineering Manager to join our Technology team, who will be responsible for leading, managing, and scaling Chefaa’s engineering teams across backend, frontend, mobile, quality control, and Scrum functions. The role requires balancing hands-on technical oversight (preferably with PHP expertise) and strong people leadership, ensuring high-performance delivery, innovation, and career growth for the teams.
Team Leadership & People Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team of 12+ members, including backend, frontend, mobile developers, QC, and Scrum Master.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
- Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development plans tailored to each team member.
- Manage resource planning, workload distribution, and team structure to meet project needs and growth.
- Identify training needs, promote continuous learning, and facilitate knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and retention strategies to build strong engineering talent pipelines.
Technical Oversight & Delivery Management:
- Provide technical guidance to the team members to ensure scalable, maintainable, and efficient software solutions.
- Review high-level architectural designs, coding standards, and best practices.
- Facilitate cross-team technical collaboration, ensuring alignment across backend, frontend, mobile, and QC efforts.
- Drive the execution of software development projects, ensuring timely delivery, quality assurance, and adherence to Chefaa’s technical roadmap.
- Encourage adoption of emerging technologies, process improvements, and tooling enhancements.
Strategic & Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with the CTO to define and implement Chefaa’s technical vision, architecture decisions, and long-term technology strategy.
- Collaborate with the Product team and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical deliverables.
- Monitor and mitigate project risks, ensuring smooth and transparent communication with senior management.
- Support CTO in governance areas such as security, compliance, scalability, and performance optimization.
