AtkinsRéalis is looking for an experienced Planning & Scheduling Engineer for our Middle east delivery team to be based in Cairo, Egypt. This person will be carrying out a mix of functions that span from internal process improvements to supporting project delivery. The successful candidate should be a people, process, tool (in that order) focused individual whose job it will be to ensure our project delivery teams adhere to common standards and the latest design delivery techniques. The candidate will also actively support project teams on proposal and project delivery tasks.


Roles & Responsibilities:


  • Support Project Manager in creating schedules for Bid submission and preparing detailed schedules for multidisciplinary works in Primavera / MSP.
  • Raise Early warning indicators on any delay or changes.
  • Develop project dashboard reports in excel, MS Power BI or other reporting tools.
  • Create variance/slippage reports based on the appropriate baseline schedules managed in Primavera at the various stages and the reporting periods in the project.
  • Facilitate acceptance of and ensure that the project plan embraces the full project work scope, is fit for purpose and is achievable.
  • Monitor critical activities based on the Primavera schedule and advise project management.
  • Ensure the reasons for, and the factors influencing each change to the project's baseline plan plus the implications.
  • Create of project performance data from project schedules in a concise and timely manner as required by the project teams. 
  • Ensuring that all issues within the programme are highlighted and understood by Senior Management and giving appropriate planning advice. 
  • Deliver periodic programme updates and information regarding changes and delays that have impacted the programme on a period-by-period basis. 
  • Monitor, control and analyze the project programme and cost information using Earned Value methodologies, identify variances and bring these to the attention of the Project Manager with possible alternatives, prepare specific reports including dashboards.
  • Mentoring staff in Planning and Project Controls Domain.

Requirements:


  • Project Delivery Experience 4-10 years preferably in engineering design or project management consultancy environment.
  • Bachelor’s/ master’s degree in engineering preferred in Construction Management, Building Technology, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Excellent language, report writing, presentation and communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changing environments and requirements.
  • Project management acumen.
  • Able to independently deliver work and integrate with larger project team.
  • Able to present their projects (presentations/meetings) to stakeholders/clients.
  • Good Knowledge in Planning and scheduling domain and excellent in relevant planning tool.
  • Advance Knowledge in the use of Primavera (P6) and MS Project.
  • Experience in identifying delays and preparing impact or time extension analysis reports.
  • Experience in development and maintaining baseline programmes starting with very little briefs and input.
  • Proven track record to work in a team of professional planners and senior planners.
  • Certified Scheduling professional, Certified Cost Professional, Project Management Professional or equivalent credential(s).
  • Experience is UK Transportation, Infrastructure, Electrical, Mechanical preferred.
