Job Description

Specific Responsibilities

The expatriate Drilling Engineering Sr. Manager role for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Drilling, Completions and Workover team at the company’s Cairo, Egypt office reporting to the Drilling Director.

This role will be primarily responsible for the following:


•    Safety champion of the JV DCW group. Closely monitor safety performance and identify ways to introduce engineering controls and processes to improve safety of KPC DCW operations
•    Identify and implement performance improvement initiatives and cost saving ideas. Continuously generate ideas for improvement and work with JV team for quick implementation.
•    Monitor progress of performance improvement/cost saving ideas and communicate to DCW/Asset leadership
•    Manage the remote operating center in Egypt (EDOCC)
•    Track and communicate DCW performance (monthly and quarterly) to the DCW, Asset and JV leadership.
•    Identify and communicate any performance issues early that could impact Apache's business plan.
•    Work with DCW director to manage rig schedule, outlook and yearly business plans
•    Work with DCW function to develop, implement and enforce functional standards. Build bridging document in case there are conflicts with KPC standards
•    Staying up to date with drilling and completions technology and what can be implemented in Egypt
•    Benchmarking performance against other Operators in Egypt
•    Training & development of DC&W staff including KPC. Develop robust training plan and track progress to ensure staff competency
•    Work with supply chain to manage OCTG & Wellheads
•    DCW focal point to provide technical support to Supply Chain
•    Wellview & data quality management. 
•    Robust use of data analytics to track and improve performance




Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:


•    Safety must be the top priority
•    15-20 years' experience in Drilling, completion & WO
•    Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent
•    International experience in multiple plays/assets/countries
•    Exposure to US land execution pace or similar
•    Ability function well in high-pace and stressful environment
•    Has Performance driven mindset
•    Strong communication, impersonality, influential & leadership 
•    Focus on remaining up-to-date with most recent drilling and completions technology.
•    Ability to benchmark company performance against other operators in the area and recognize areas of opportunity in Egypt.
