The Young Leadership Development Programme (YLDP) is a dynamic global innovative capacity building programme aim at empowering young Egyptians and equip them with the values, skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the professional fields of work so that they are ready to use their potential to develop themselves and their communities and contribute to a better future for the country.
Under the overall guidance of the Chief Technical Adviser, the Country Director is responsible for managing the implementation of the Young Leadership Development Programme in Egypt.
S/he will act as programme-lead for the YLDP portfolio, supported by Progarmme Manger and Coordinators. S/he will guide staff to facilitate harmonization of activities and other stakeholders to maximize results. In addition, s/he will take a holistic view of the programme and ensure programme development, management, administration and staff development. S/he will act under the guidance of IYF Bureau of Programme senior management and refer major executive project decisions to the Programme Board.

Job Description



Duties and Responsibilities



Articulates and actively communicates a credible and convincing strategic vision for YLDP Egypt which is consistent with national priorities, and the IYF Global Strategy 2021-2025. Management of Young Leadership Development Programme in Egypt in a flexible and participatory manner, with a facilitative approach, while retaining a strong focus on results and programme implementation. Lead the programme planning and implementation with emphasis on achievement of YLDP goals and targets. Regularly identify challenges and provide recommendations to mitigate project risks and ensure smooth project implementation, with the support of the Higher Advisory Committee.
Recruit, manage performance, and support career development for YLDP staff to motivate and promote future leaders. Promoting cross-programme teamwork, building consensus within the IYF on key challenges and solutions to address them.
Leads communication efforts by identifying strategic opportunities to highlight programme achievements and appropriate reporting. Develop and implement partnerships and resources mobilization strategies to achieve programme outcomes.

Inspiration and lead by example is about energizing and creating a sense of direction and purpose in others, unlocking motivation and momentum for positive change.*

Functional Competencies



Ability to conceptualize and convey strategic vision from the spectrum of development experience Strong people management skills Ability to provide information, tools, resources to support work achievement Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills

Eligibility



Highly interested in youth empowerment issues Relevant management and administrative support skills are required

Experience



Experience and results preferred in administrative, human resources, youth empowerment role, training, knowledge management, development, communications, international relations, capacity building, sport, women empowerment, public administration, public affairs, political science, international relations, economic affairs, social science, business administration, law, development studies, youth-led organizations or another relevant field.

Additional Information



Assessment
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by a competency-based interview.

Time commitment



As we are working on a very flexible schedule, the time commitment for this role will be around (3-4 hours/week), but that may vary from week to another.
