We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fit Out Cost Manager to join our Project Development Services (PDS) team in Cairo, Egypt. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost control and quantity surveying for commercial fit-out projects, from pre-contract activities through post-contract execution.


Key Responsibilities:


Pre-Contract Activities:


  • Assist in establishing client requirements.
  • Define the project budget with the Project Owner (participation in feasibility studies, proposal of optimized solutions, study of different scenarios, etc.).
  • Conduct feasibility cost estimates and develop detailed cost plans from conceptual design through final construction documents.
  • Experience in pricing detailed BOQs in pre-tender stage.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to create accurate bills of quantities (BOQ) and execute accurate and efficient take-offs.
  • Monitor the financial evolution of the project throughout design and execution.
  • Regularly provide the Project Owner with a clear vision of changes.
  • Plan and manage the tender process: analysis, exchanges, negotiations, and drafting summaries to select contractors.

Post-Contract Activities:


  • Handle contract variations, additional works, snags, and maintenance orders by submitting and negotiating them effectively.
  • Visit the site as needed to perform measurements and monitor project progress.
  • Analyze and provide recommendations for subcontract payments, ensuring accurate valuation of completed work.
  • Work with stakeholders to maintain project cost control reports, including tracking actual costs against estimated budgets.
  • Review monthly payment valuations and prepare final accounts.
  • Attend commercial meetings with client and project stakeholders. Also attend site meetings and design team meetings as required.

Required Qualifications:


  • 5-8 years of experience as Quantity Surveyor, Estimator, or Cost Control Engineer, preferably in commercial fit-out industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in MEP, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Strong knowledge of pre and post-contract technical cost and commercial management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with proficiency in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and AutoCAD.
  • Experience with cost estimation and quantity surveying software, especially CostX.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with executive-level clients and team members.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure and fast-paced environments.
