Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead our team of Cost and Contract professionals in delivering exceptional commercial management services for our projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial management, team leadership, and a proven track record in the real estate sector.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead and manage a team of Cost and Contract professionals to meet business targets and align with senior management objectives.
  • Provide short-term and long-term coverage for open positions across various projects.
  • Collaborate with Project Directors to identify and mitigate potential issues.
  • Update and revise project/program procedures to ensure commercial requirements compliance and best practices.
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of contract processes, including refining contract formulation activities, systems, and procedures.
  • Evaluate and recommend claims, including loss calculations, as required.
  • Formulate strategies to resolve Contract and Commercial issues.
  • Provide advice on contract procurement and types of underlying contracts and agreements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across projects to obtain and communicate business information for reporting purposes.
  • Guide staff, critique and challenge objectively and confidently.

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant post-degree work experience.
  • Recent experience in a commercial role, including team management.
  • Excellent pre and post-contract technical cost and commercial management skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and AutoCAD.
  • Experience with cost estimation and quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Plan Swift, Bluebeam, or Candy).
  • Excellent prioritization and self-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Associate or Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
  • Experience in Construction, Fit-out, and/or Renovation projects.
  • Middle East work experience (not essential).

  • Excellent technical skills in quantity surveying and cost estimation.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and team members.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry trends.
  • Demonstrated experience in the Real Estate sector.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead by example.
