Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and efficient Chief Stewarding professional to join our team in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. As the Chief Steward, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and operational efficiency in our kitchen and dining facilities.
- Oversee and manage the daily stewarding operations, including supervision of the stewarding team
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP) throughout all kitchen areas
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and other department heads to meet equipment requirements and maintain operational excellence
- Develop and implement efficient staffing schedules to optimize team performance
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and minimize waste to enhance overall kitchen efficiency
- Coordinate with various departments to maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Conduct regular inspections of kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils to ensure cleanliness and proper functioning
- Train and develop kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and high-energy work environment
- Implement and maintain quality control measures for all stewarding processes
- Stay updated on local health and safety regulations and ensure compliance
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a leadership role within large, fast-paced stewarding operations
- Strong knowledge of Food Safety and hygiene standards, including HACCP certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, management, and vendors
- Demonstrated ability to design and manage efficient staffing schedules
- Experience in inventory management and overseeing invoicing processes
- Proficiency in problem-solving and decision-making in high-pressure situations
- In-depth knowledge of kitchen equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and software
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members
- Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization
- Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Knowledge of local health and safety regulations in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt (preferred)
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus
