Chief Steward
Location: Cairo, EG
Role Purpose: To assist IKEA Food team in ensuring the efficient production of food in the section as per the set standards, procedures, customer’s requirements and cost guidelines. Ensure our guests are always in focus and strive to make them smile. Meet and serve our guests showing empathy and care. Willing to listen and support them with an attitude based on the IKEA values. Lead by example and a good ambassador for the IKEA store in all contact with our guests, and give them a good reason to return again and again. Always look at our store through the eyes of our customers. Have a daily dialogue with our guests to get continuous feedback about their experiences and to learn more about their needs and wants, then act based on their input. Ensure our guests have a great shopping experience always throughout the day. Actively work with the Chef to increase his knowledge and expertise in all areas of production Ensure the correct use of equipment at all times and reports breakdown or failure to the Chef Attend and participates in training sessions as required Perform other related functions that may be assigned from time to time Steering the business Work actively to make the IKEA store successful and high performing, today and tomorrow by attracting visitors, achieving sales growth and reasonable profitability, ensuring the satisfaction of guests and co-workers, and excellent operational performance as measured through our defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Ensure the implementation and follow-up of the SOP rules and guidelines. Determine materials, supplies, and equipment needs; requisitions cleaning supplies and materials Provide guidance to assigned staff on cleaning techniques and train new staff on prescribed standards Plan and prepare employee work schedules, timesheets, incident and accident reports and other monthly reports required Monitor and check cleaning equipment to ensure that it is maintained in good working condition Issue janitorial supplies and equipment to workers to ensure quality and on time cleaning of company facilities Supervise and evaluate staff performance and resolve any staff related issues Ensure that current health and safety regulations and good working practices are observed in relation to hygiene and safety at work Perform and assist with cleaning duties as necessary Perform other related functions that may be assigned from time to time Use the full potential of the IKEA Concept, tools, manuals, guidelines and other best practices. Previous service environment experience, ideally sales or hospitality - Minimum of 2 years. Secondary Degree Must have an interest and knowledge of culinary or food service industry Must have a strong customer focus Must have the ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced, and constantly changing retail environment Must have multitasking capabilities * Must be computer literate
