Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead and oversee all Production, Engineering, and Total Quality Management (TQM) operations across the company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving operational excellence, optimizing efficiency, ensuring product quality, and maintaining cost-effectiveness while aligning operations with the company’s strategic goals. This role requires a strong leader with expertise in manufacturing operations, supply chain management, process optimization, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:1. Operations & Production Management:
- Oversee and direct all manufacturing operations, ensuring optimal efficiency and high-quality production.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve production output, minimize waste, and enhance overall plant efficiency.
- Drive lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement programs to increase operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, regulatory, and industry standards (ISO, HACCP, GMP, etc.).
- Work closely with supply chain teams to ensure raw material availability and optimized production schedules.
2. Engineering & Maintenance Leadership:
- Lead engineering and maintenance teams to ensure the reliability and efficiency of all plant equipment and machinery.
- Oversee the implementation of new technologies, automation systems, and digital transformation projects.
- Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance strategies are in place to minimize downtime and maximize asset lifespan.
- Optimize energy consumption, water usage, and waste management to support sustainability initiatives.
3. Total Quality Management (TQM) & Compliance:
- Ensure the highest standards of quality assurance and control (QA/QC) across all production processes.
- Establish and enforce TQM frameworks to drive a culture of continuous quality improvement.
- Maintain compliance with local and international quality standards (ISO, HACCP, BRC, etc.).
- Develop and oversee audit programs to assess product quality and identify improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with R&D teams to enhance product formulations and production processes.
4. Supply Chain & Logistics Coordination:
- Work closely with the supply chain team to ensure seamless coordination of raw material procurement, production planning, and distribution.
- Optimize inventory management to reduce excess stock while ensuring continuous production flow.
- Enhance logistics efficiency to reduce operational costs and improve customer service levels.
5. Cross-Functional Leadership & Strategic Collaboration:
- With Finance: Align operational budgets with company financial goals, ensuring cost control and efficiency.
- With HR: Develop workforce planning strategies, ensuring a highly skilled and motivated operational team.
- With IT & SAP Teams: Leverage SAP ERP solutions to enhance data-driven decision-making, production tracking, and quality control processes.
- With Sales & Marketing: Ensure alignment of production capabilities with market demand, supporting product launches and promotions.
6. Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement:
- Define and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for production efficiency, quality control, waste reduction, and cost optimization.
- Implement real-time monitoring tools to improve decision-making and operational responsiveness.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, encouraging employees to contribute to operational excellence.
7. Sustainability & Environmental Responsibility:
- Lead sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental impact and improve resource utilization.
- Implement waste reduction, recycling, and energy-saving programs to enhance sustainability performance.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry best practices.
